On the Row Radar: Luke Combs

Luke Combs is a relatively new name to the Nashville directory, but a favored and familiar figure to quite a few throughout the southeast. Luke was born in Asheville, NC and educated at the great Appalachian State University in Boone, NC - aka Eric Church's alma mater. Luke recorded his first EP in January of 2014 with the help of Emmy Award winning producer, Kenny Roister. The title track "The Way She Rides," hit the iTunes Top 100 on the country charts. Hardly a year later, and Luke has not only put out a second EP, but has already announced the release of his third EP, due early this summer! His second EP includes three more originals, including "Can I Get An Outlaw," co-written with fellow North Carolina native, also recently relocated to Nashville, TN, Josh Phillips.

Luke has taken a unique approach for distributing his music. Of course, "normal" would not be expected from this soulful, determined artist. Luke's authentic sound will pull you in and hold you tight, with his husky tone and homegrown growl. Combs' voice, paired with his knack for songwriting, has earned him an avid following of 64,000+ followers on Vine, over 8,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, and countless fans throughout the Carolina's and beyond. A week ago, Luke announced that he would post an original song every week up until his third EP debuted.

I don't doubt there are a whole bunch of excited fans ready for what this country boy has in store, and many more who won't be able to help but to jump on the Luke Combs bandwagon when they get a taste of this sweet Carolina country!

Keep up with Luke on his YouTube channel for weekly songs!
